McBride Consulting is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Behavior Technicians to provide 1:1 support to students with disabilities in public school settings. No Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required. We provide comprehensive training, ongoing BCBA supervision, and opportunities for professional growth.

Position Summary

The School-Based Behavior Technician provides direct 1:1 support to an assigned student/students under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Behavior Technicians work collaboratively with teachers, special educators, administrators, and related service providers to help students access their educational program while increasing independence, communication, emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behavior.

Each technician is assigned to work one-on-one with a student/students throughout the school day and implements individualized supports based on the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), and educational goals.

Our goal is not simply to help students get through the school day—we help them build the skills they need to become as independent and successful as possible.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide individualized 1:1 behavioral, academic, communication, and social-emotional support throughout the school day.

• Implement behavior intervention plans and individualized educational strategies developed by the supervising BCBA.

• Support students in general education classrooms, special education classrooms, vocational settings, community-based instruction, and school activities.

• Assist students during arrival, dismissal, classroom instruction, transitions, lunch, recess, specials, assemblies, field trips, and other school routines.

• Teach replacement behaviors, emotional regulation, communication, executive functioning, adaptive living skills, social skills, and independence.

• Utilize evidence-based ABA strategies including positive reinforcement, prompting, task analysis, visual supports, token economies, first/then boards, differential reinforcement, shaping, and chaining.

• Encourage independence by systematically fading prompts whenever appropriate.

• Collect accurate behavioral and skill acquisition data throughout the school day.

• Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the supervising BCBA and educational team.

• Respond safely and professionally to challenging behaviors using approved intervention procedures.

• Promote student dignity, inclusion, and participation in all educational activities.

• Collaborate effectively with teachers, special educators, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, school psychologists, administrators, nursing staff, and families as appropriate.

• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA, HIPAA, company policies, and professional ethical standards.

• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.

• Attend supervision meetings, staff meetings, required trainings, and professional development opportunities.

• Perform other duties that support student success and the educational team.

Training & Professional Support

All Behavior Technicians receive comprehensive training and ongoing supervision from experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), including:

******No prior ABA certification is required.

Compensation & Benefits

• Full-Time | School-Year Calendar

• Competitive Hourly Rate: $28.00–$34.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
