Job Description
BCBA Position Summary: The Board Certified Behavior Analyst’s (BCBA) primary responsibility is to ensure the quality and effective implementation of all treatment and programming for designated clients at Try Love Behavioral Center. BCBAs will also have multi-level management responsibilities in ABA therapy and center management to oversee operations while maintaining compliance with standardized protocols and procedures.
This position reports to the Try Love Behavioral Center Executive Director. The ideal candidate will possess solid knowledge of the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis, as well as an understanding of the cognitive, educational, social, and vocational challenges encountered by individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The BCBA’s primary focus is to use Applied Behavioral Analysis principles for our clients diagnosed with Autism. Try Love Behavioral Center BCBAs provide therapy and supervision to increase socialization, academic skill acquisition, play, language, and motor skills (fine and gross) while minimizing or eliminating challenging behaviors. They design and direct the implementation of treatment goals, each individualized to the client and family’s needs. This includes parent interviews and intakes, functional assessments, verbal behavior assessments, adaptive behavior assessments, behavior plan development, goal setting, registered behavior technician training, parent training, and functional analysis, if necessary.
Responsibilities and Duties
● Assessing client repertoires and developing client programming and treatment plans
● Maintaining and submitting accurate documentation and records
● Overseeing Behavior Technician training
● Providing adequate supervision to RBTs to ensure a high degree of treatment integrity
● Planning and implementing parent/caregiver collaboration and training opportunities to facilitate the generalization of novel skills and replacement behaviors.
● Coordinate care with other service providers (physicians, schools, daycares, etc.)
● Contributing to research initiatives.
● Conduct skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments.
● Provide initial and ongoing staff education and training on client behavioral and skill acquisition protocols.
● Provide positive and constructive feedback to staff regarding clinical and professional team members to facilitate communication and collaboration between all clients and team members, including company staff, fellow Behavior Analysts, parents, and outside health professionals.
● Facilitate team day-to-day operations by ensuring that all necessary paperwork, materials, scheduling, and documentation are current.
● Update & maintain data collection systems & disseminate information to the team.
● Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training when necessary.
● Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
● Conduct parent and caregiver training per the client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
● Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress.
● Maintain client confidentiality.
● Utilize safe and appropriate handling and guidance procedures when working with clients.

Requirements

Required: Master’s Degree in a related field

Required: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential.

Required: Experience with assessments, treatment formulation, and data analysis.

Required: Experience designing and applying positive behavior support strategies based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Required: Experience developing individualized program goals and treatment plans for clients and their families to implement in the classroom, community, and other natural environments where appropriate.

Required: Experience monitoring the ongoing implementation of treatment program goals, skill acquisition, and evaluation of progress.
